LA 16 AA Wolf TUL GS

This vehicle has been the pride of the London District Ceremonial Duties Unit untill released from service in 2019.

Vehicle was manufactured in in 1998 and served with the Army until being returned for the ‘Remus’ upgrade.
With the upcoming Queens 90 th Birthday Celebrations this was one of the vehicle selected to undergo a complete transformation from fighting vehicle to ceremonial support,in keeping with the different roles the Guards undertake.

Stripped down,it was base coated and then top coated in ‘deep bronze green’.( The original colour for the Army Land Rovers dating back to Series 1 and favoured by the Royals)

New parts,panels/door tops/straps where replaced to achieve that ‘on parade’ look.

Finally the underneath was black wax coated.

This vehicle also has had the benefit of a replacement engine and its speedo may only represent the mileage the engine has undertaken.

The axles have been overhauled with all new drive shafts, and the suspension replaced with new bushes.Brakes have been serviced to include new discs and pads.

Tyres are Good Years and they are in new condition all round.

The upgraded tail gate, and swing away spare wheel, reveal that new seats and seat belts were fitted. The new chassis mounted Roll Over cage ensures the soft top stays tight to the vehicle through extra velcro fasteners.

With many dress rehersals for the celebrations this

Wolf along with the other ‘Ceremonial’ vehicles ensured the final day was magnificent.

2016 did not see the end of its use as it continued to act in support roles until 2019.

There is a history with this vehicle and shows its usage in the last years of service life.

Its present condition will ensure that it is a very sort after collectors vehicle.

Other than minor maintenance each year, small cosmetic improvements can be undertaken without reducing it ‘provenance’
